The tallest or highest mountain in Switzerland is the Dufourspitze 4,634m (15,203ft). The Dufourspitze is named for General Guillaume Henri Dufour (1787-1875) a military officer that surveyed peaks in the Monte Rosa mountain range in which the Dufourspitze is located.
