In which part of a flower do both meiosis and fertilization occur?
A. Ovule.
B. Petal.
C. Anther.
D. Stigma.
The ovule contains the egg cell which is formed by meiosis. The sperm cells move to the egg cell where fertilization occurs. The ovules are located in the ovary of the flower. The stigma collects pollen, the anther produces pollen and the petal attracts insects and birds to the nectar, who in turn place the pollen on the stigma.
